I have been here for almost two weeks now and it took a little over a week for me to stop looking for moscos 24/7. It has been great catching up with friends and spending time with my family but, it does not feel the same to me anymore. Coming back to the home that me and Javi thought we would be starting our lives in. For the most part I try not to let it bug me but it makes me sad sometimes. I am so grateful that my mom and dad are taking care of it for us and that we had a place for them to go when they lost their own home, but.....
Besides that it took me awhile to get used to doing things around here again, the American way. Taking a shower with hot water without having to wait for the boiler to heat up, and how powerful the water came out like a massage( Not so hard to get used to). Doing laundry, washed and dried in less than an hour (nice if you are in a hurry), but doing laundry is one thing I don't mind doing, weird I know, but I love hanging my clothes up on the line.
I have to say I was so excited to go out shopping every day and eat fast food. I have been out shopping a few days my first week and purchased things that were needed for my trip back for us and the family, but then I would put stuff back and feel guilty for wanting to buy things I really don't need. I have been living without all this "stuff" for the last five months. It kind of took the fun out of it knowing that I would be spending all this money and Javi is back home working everyday and trying to save what little he is making. It was great going in to walmart and target, but it is all the same, everything is so commercialized. Every store looks the same, has the same products and I have to say I have only eaten fast food 2 or 3 times. I have not had a craving for anything since I have been here. My favorite used to be spicy chicken sandwiches from jack, I have not stopped at a Jack in the box once since I arrived.
My last little rant, the traffic. Oh how I did not missing driving here in the 24/7 traffic. It is horrible, it takes twice as long to get somewhere as it should and the drivers. I know people are bad in Mx and mostly because they are not taught like we are. Here is a whole different story. We are showed what is right and wrong, courtesy and road rules. Knowing this it just pisses me off even more because people are so rude and have no common sense or courtesy. I have been in almost three accidents since I have been here just because people think they own the road and everything else.
I know I am very lucky to have been born in this country, for all the freedoms I have had, the luxuries, trips I have taken with my family and I am very grateful. Even knowing this I am also very thankful for this new life I have been led to. Somewhere were I can appreciate all that I had growing up, but to find out that I did not need everything I once thought I did, and that there are more important things in life than what I once believed. I never once in my life thought that I would be living in another state, let alone another country. I never wanted to look at this change as a bad thing, and I still don't. I think all these life changes and lessons are only turning me into a better person. These are the cards that have been dealt and I want / have to believe its gonna be a good hand.

Taking a break from routine
Sorry everyone for the long time away. Wow it has been over a month since I've posted. I have been stuck in my daily routine of things here and not much has happened in the last month. We lived with the new baby in the house for a couple of weeks while they got their new place ready. It was interesting helping out with the baths, washing the clothes, feeding and burping, and it nice that even though they slept in the room right next to us the baby he did not keep us up all night. They have been gone for about two weeks now and it seems every time he comes around he is bigger. I wonder how big he is going to look when I get back????
That's right I said get back, I will be leaving this weekend for a trip to the states. I had originally planned on going in the summer, but when I looked at the prices for plane tickets we had to make some adjustments. It works out better this way though because I will be able to be with my mom and grandmothers for Mother's Day and will be back before Javi's Birthday. I have already warned my family that this trip will only be four weeks long because my last trip (ten weeks) was just way to long to be away. I already have my ticket back and it is nice to have a day of coming back to look forward too.
In other news Javi is still working at his same job and has been working really hard. He will go in early or stay late if they ask and has never missed any days because after asking for a better position he wants to prove he can be counted on. Recently he told me that if he was not going to be moved or given any more money that we would soon be opening up some kind of store or traveling and selling clothes or shoes. I know we had this in our future plans but I did not think it would be this soon. I thought maybe we would wait to sell my car back in the states and the blazer that we have here to have some money to get started with. Well luckily he came home the other night and said that he will be training someone new to take over his position so that he can move and possibly be making 30 more pesos a day. This is great news and came at a perfect time. Gives us a little more time to save some money.
Well I just wanted to let you all know I am still alive and kicking and I will be trying to get in a questionnaire before leaving.

New Baby in the casa
There is no birth control better than having to live with a brand new baby. The crying all night and day. Watching the tired parents walk around like zombies for the first week looking so helpless. Watching the pregnancy for the whole nine months and how miserable she looks in the last couple weeks. Listening to how much it hurt. But then again watching your 20 year old niece have her first baby boy while you have not even had one kid kind of makes you think about things. In the last two years there has been 5 new babies within the family on both mine and javi's side. Sometime we think about how much we spoil our new nieces and nephews and why we aren't spoiling our own. Of course it is always nice to be able to spoil and play with them and then hand them over when they start crying, get cranky or when they leave a lovely present in their pants for you. I'm just saying!!
Well last weekend we had Lupitas baby shower, cutting it close of course because she was ten days away from her due date. Early that morning she was saying how uncomfortable she was and not feeling to good. That night she went home looking miserable. The next morning we got a call that she was in the hospital and going to be having the baby that day. She had been there since 5 in the morning and we arrived there around 11. No one was able to go in the room to see her, not even her husband. ( This kind of freaked me out because I always thought that if and when we were going to have a kid I wanted to be here so that I would not have to be away from Javi and not have to travel with a brand new baby). It turns out the baby was born at 11am, we were not told until 1:30 and we would not be able to see her until 4pm wow. A lot of waiting without any updates, kind of sucks for everyone involved but when we talked to her later she said she was fine by herself and did not mind not having everyone there. Hu, who would of thought?
