All I could say was Yes! Yes! Yes!

Hey everyone I know last time I said that I said changes were coming. Well this weekend they did, It just wasn't the kind I was thinking of.

Sunday afternoon Javi and I decided we wanted to take his parents out to eat at a restaurant for Mother's / Father's day. So everyone got dressed up and we went to eat at a place close to the lake nearby. My cunada and the kids tagged along and it was nice enjoying something different and new with them. We were all having a nice time and enjoying our meal, the food was Delicious, Javi had steak and shrimp and I had some steak fajitas. Everything was super yummy and we started packing up our food to go when the waiter brought me a little surprise before we left.......

I tried very hard to put the video here on the blog but all I could do was paste the link so please click

Sunday dinner video

So if you clicked the link you saw how Javi proposed to me this weekend!!! EEkkk I am super excited. I could not wait to share this with all of you and my family. Javi has always introduced me as his wife here in Mx, but now after 5.5 years its time to make it official.Yeahh!!!!

The cards have been dealt

I have been here for almost two weeks now and it took a little over a week for me to stop looking for moscos 24/7.  It has been great catching up with friends and spending time with my family but, it does not feel the same to me anymore. Coming back to the home that me and Javi thought we would be starting our lives in. For the most part I try not to let it bug me but it makes me sad sometimes.  I am so grateful that my mom and dad are taking care of it for us and that we had a place for them to go when they lost their own home, but.....

Besides that it took me awhile to get used to doing things around here again, the American way. Taking a shower with hot water without having to wait for the boiler to heat up, and how powerful the water came out like a massage( Not so hard to get used to). Doing laundry, washed and dried in less than an hour (nice if you are in a hurry), but doing laundry is one thing I don't mind doing, weird I know, but I love hanging my clothes up on the line.

I have to say I was so excited to go out shopping every day and eat fast food. I have been out shopping a few days my first week and purchased things that were needed for my trip back for us and the family, but then I would put stuff back and feel guilty for wanting to buy things I  really don't need. I have been living without all this "stuff" for the last five months. It kind of took the fun out of it knowing that I would be spending all this money and Javi is back home working everyday and trying to save what little he is making. It was great going in to walmart and target, but it is all the same, everything is so commercialized. Every store looks the same, has the same products and I have to say I have only eaten fast food 2 or 3 times. I have not had a craving for anything since I have been here. My favorite used to be spicy chicken sandwiches from jack, I have not stopped at a Jack in the box once since I arrived.

My last little rant, the traffic. Oh how I did not missing driving here in the 24/7 traffic. It is horrible, it takes twice as long to get somewhere as it should and the drivers.  I know people are bad in Mx and mostly because they are not taught like we are. Here is a whole different story. We are showed what is right and wrong, courtesy and road rules. Knowing this it just pisses me off even more because people are so rude and have no common sense or courtesy. I have been in almost three accidents since I have been here just because people think they own the road and everything else.

I know I am very lucky to have been born in this country, for all the freedoms I have had, the luxuries, trips I have taken with my family and I am very grateful. Even knowing this I am also very thankful for this new life I have been led to. Somewhere were I can appreciate all that I had growing up, but to find out that I did not need everything I once thought I did, and that there are more important things in life than what I once believed. I never once in my life thought that I would be living in another state, let alone another country. I never wanted to look at this change as a bad thing, and I still don't. I think all these life changes and lessons are only turning me into a better person. These are the cards that have been dealt and I want / have to believe its gonna be a good hand.

Taking a break from routine

Sorry everyone for the long time away. Wow it has been over a month since I've posted. I have been stuck in my daily routine of things here and not much has happened in the last month. We lived with the new baby in the house for a couple of weeks while they got their new place ready. It was interesting helping out with the baths, washing the clothes, feeding and burping, and it nice that even though they slept in the room right next to us the baby he did not keep us up all night. They have been gone for about two weeks now and it seems every time he comes around he is bigger. I wonder how big he is going to look when I get back????

That's right I said get back, I will be leaving this weekend for a trip to the states. I had originally planned on going in the summer, but when I looked at the prices for plane tickets we had to make some adjustments. It works out better this way though because I will be able to be with my mom and grandmothers for Mother's Day and will be back before Javi's Birthday.  I have already warned my family that this trip will only be four weeks long because my last trip (ten weeks) was just way to long to be away. I already have my ticket back and it is nice to have a day of coming back to look forward too.

In other news Javi is still working at his same job and has been working really hard. He will go in early or stay late if they ask and has never missed any days because after asking for a better position he wants to prove he can be counted on. Recently he told me that if he was not going to be moved or given any more money that we would soon be opening up some kind of store or traveling and selling clothes or shoes. I know we had this in our future plans but I did not think it would be this soon. I thought maybe we would wait to sell my car back in the states and the blazer that we have here to have some money to get started with. Well luckily he came home the other night and said that he will be training someone new to take over his position so that he can move and possibly be making 30 more pesos a day. This is great news and came at a perfect time. Gives us a little more time to save some money.

Well I just wanted to let you all know I am still alive and kicking and I will be trying to  get in a questionnaire before leaving.
