Wish I had Advice to give

Javier has been back in his home town for awhile now and it is such a small place he is having trouble finding work. He is not the type to just sit around and watch t.v. all day, this man always has to be doing something. Most of the time I'm the one trying to get him to sit and watch a movie with me and relax a little. I feel so bad for him, every time I talk to him I can tell he is trying to stay positive because that is how he always looks at life, but he is having a realy hard time. The town we are in is not very big and well lets just say Javier has two large tattoos on his upper arms and thinks that he is not getting some of the jobs because of them. I feel so helpless because I don't know what to tell him. I have not been in Mexico long enough to figure out how things work and which is the best way to go here. I hate to see him like this and  it makes it even harder that we are not together right now. He has his family but he does not like to burden them with our problems.

I believe we are already putting a bigger burden on them than we would like to. We are living in a spare bedroom in his parents house right now and trying to help out as much as we can. Javier's parents own a small store that is attached to their house like most other businesses there and he tries to help them out as much as possible, making deliveries, picking up supplies, or making food. While I was there I tried to help his mom out as much as I could too, cleaning, cooking, washing clothes, and making sweets for the store. We feel really bad because we are basically living off his parents at the moment.

The only thing I can think for us to do right now is, if he finds something we can try and save money to be able to move the the next biggest city to us which is Guadalajara. It is about and hour and a half from where we are now so it is not close enough for him to be driving back and forth every day  for work but it might be an option in the future. I think he would have much better luck trying to find a job there especially because he speaks English really well. I think it would be the best option for both of us in the future, it would probably be the closest thing to living in the states for us.

Right now things are not looking to good but I am just trying to have faith and hope things work out one way or the other. We are kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place but I'm hoping god has a plan for us especially since I will be going back to Mexico in three more weeks. I am so excited to be going back but feel like I am leaving one problem here in the states and just walking right into another.

Learning to Fix Myself and the Anxiety

View Image

View ImageI don't think I have mentioned this before but my aunt and I have actually been trying to lose weight since last September and it has been quite a challenge. Counting calories was how I started, because of the weight I was at(which I'm sad to say was the biggest I have ever been) I could only eat about 1400 calories a day to start losing weight. My dad put me on a protein shake and showed me exercises I could do to to help me out. My dad had been on a diet for 6 months and had lost 20 pounds already, I think he is at 28 pounds right now, so it took him about a year to do.
View Image       I just need to share a little background info first. Buy the time I started my diet I was just completely done feeling like crap, I had no control over the things I was eating and did not exercise at all. A couple months earlier in April I was almost in a depression, when I went to the doctors they told me that I had an anxiety disorder which was not a fun thing to go through. Some of the symptoms were rapid heart beat, sweating, nausea, hyperventilating, depression, and Insomnia. When I am upset about things I have the habit of keeping things to myself and not talking to anyone, which was one thing that led me to this disorder. I did not feel like I was stressed out but my body was telling me that I actually was and that I needed to do something to fix it. The doctor had recommended for me to start exercising and talking out my problems with Javier more or with someone in my family to let them know how I was feeling.
View Image   By May I was started to feel a little better and then everything came crashing down. My brother in law called me early in the morning and told me that Javier was being held and was going to be deported. I was so upset and afraid. I was terrified that all the anxiety would come back. Around August I could start to feel my symptoms coming back and knew that there was something I had to do to be healthier. My dad told me that I should try counting calories and exercising again and maybe that would help me feel better about myself and some of the situations I was being placed in.
As usual my dad was right. Counting calories to me worked out really well because it was easy and  I was still eating whatever I wanted, I did not feel cheated. I also started doing the stair stepper and lifting weights every other day. After I started my diet my aunt decided that she wanted to join me because it is always easier when you have someone else doing it with you and we kind of had a little race going to see who could lose more. I am happy to report that since then I have been able to look at my situation differently and take things (especially the bad ones) a little easier as they come into my life. Relieving some of my stress through exercise and expressing myself more has definitely helped me these last couple of months.
View ImageAs of early march my aunt and I are tied 22 lbs and it feels wonderful. I have so much more confidence,  energy, self esteem, and feel like I can handle a lot more than I could have this time last year. I have not had an anxiety attack in almost over a year. Don't get me wrong there were times when it just did not feel like it was working because I lost a lot of inches in the beginning instead of the pounds. Now that the pounds are gone though I can see that all my hard work has paid off and it is going to say that way. First big goal was to get to 20 pounds, next 30. Now I just take life one day and one pound at a time.

Disneyday

Me and my Mom

Disneyland was pretty amazing! I am so glad I got to go and my mom surprised me with a two day pass. She actually got a good deal. My mom went to the grocery store and purchased a gift card that would get me into disneyland two days but I could only visit one park per day. When we arrived at disney though the lady at the front told us we could pay ten dollers more and get two park hopper tickets, which meant we could visit both parks on both days for only 110 dollers. Now this price is still outrageous but it was better than the 150 dollers we would have had to pay if we got the tickets at the disneyland park.

This Mr Potatoe head was so cute he was talking and dancing.

Anywho they are doing so many new thing in the new California Adventure, they are building the whole town from the cars movie which is going to be soo cute, and a whole new section for the little mermaid. I was a little bummed we will not be able to see the finish product of these two very cute cartoons. I do have to say though that the wolrld of color was my favorite part besides the rides. They do such an amazing job with the way they project all the characters onto the water.

Walking into Disneyland Park area.

This is my favorite roller coaster at Cali Adventure

These tree are from the Bugs life land and of course the scary Hollywood Tower

This mickey farris wheel was so cute at night!

I tried to get some good picks of World of Color but it was really hard.

It's not an obsession

Disneyland time!! I decided it was a good idea to go before heading down to Mexico. There is not a set date to come back to the states and I'm sure when that time comes there will not be money to go. There is not much money right now, but my mom has offered to pay for my ticket because she will do anything just to get me to go. Disneyland, my mothers favorite place in the world, if she could live there or go everyday of the week I'm sure she would. When I was younger and working I would call my mom on my breaks and see what she was up to, of course her answer " Oh I decided to go to Disneyland today to come see my friends" My response " Oh it must be nice to go whenever you want." I would not call it an obsession because that would hurt her feelings, she is just a kid at heart and loves all the Disney characters, and she definitely gets her money's worth on her season pass!
So I have been back for three weeks now and my time is half way up, spending time with my parents and brother is the most important thing to me and this way I get to spend time with my mom, take a day off of work, and see all the new rides they have put in since the last time I went. So its a win win for me and my mom. Lets see if I can get a few good pictures while we are there tomorrow.

OK, so when I was young The Little Mermaid was my favorite movie, I watched it so many times I actually broke the tape. My mom had to write a letter to Disney to open the vault and send us a new one, talk about an obsession, I guess that was me not her. Does anyone have a fav Disney movie or have kids that love their fav Disney characters?
