My second Lavantamiento
I can not believe it has already been a year since my I celebrated my first holiday here in Mx. If you don't remember there is a little reminder here as to how we celebrated our first Levantamiento de Nino Dios. During Christmas the baby Jesus was placed in the Nativity and on Feb 2 we are supposed to wake him up and we walk around the room with him giving everyone a chance to kiss him on the head. After, there is food served and tons of goodies given out. Last year Javi and I were the padrinos so we had to provide the majority of the goody bags. We had a lot more people here to celebrate with us and we had to do it a little early because of Javi's work hours. So I thought I would share a few photos with all of you from the night.
I was asked to carry around the baby Jesus
As I carried him around the room my two helpers(nephews) carried a bell and a candle.
After you kissed his head you could grab a dulce off of the tray.
These were our bags, my nieces helped me put together.
These were a few of the other bags people brought over.
The one in the middle javi said looked cute and like it had something good in it
so he was trying to make sure he got a few for us. Well it turns out all it had was a box of
juice in it. I thought it was pretty funny when he was so disappointed.

It's that time again
Alright ladies my monthly questionnaire is going around again. I have been gone for awhile and thought this would be a great post to come back with. Remember to join in, love hearing everyone's answers. Here goes...
1. What is one chore that you hate doing the most?
I absolutely hate making the bed, I would rather do anything else.
2. When was the first time you had alcohol?
I think I was seventeen and having a girls night at home with my mom and a friend. She let us have a couple of Yeager bombs. Very tasty!!
3.What is one of the most embarrassing things that has ever happened to you?
Growing up I was not able to be embarrassed by much just because of my family. They always joked around and would do pretty much anything so you were in big trouble if you were easily embarrassed. I do remember one day being out in public and my mom grabbing one of my boobs and saying look how perky they are. REALLY!! I know she was just messing around with me, but after having things like that happen there is not to much that can embarrass me now.
4.If you could choose how would you want to die?
In my sleep of course, seems like the nicest and easiest way.
5. Would you rather see a movie at home or in the theater?
I would actually rather watch a movie at home just because I don't like to sit in one spot for that long but going to the theater, being in the atmosphere is fun.
6. Two of your favorite musical artists and why?
1. Bruce Springsteen- Will always remind me of my family and great childhood memories.
2. Adele- no matter how bad I am feeling listening to her music is like therapy to me
7. Have you ever been to a karaoke bar and participated?
Have been to many, mostly because this used to be like a monthly thing my family would get together and do. I don't like to sing in front of strangers alone but I will go up with someone else.
8. Are you a people pleaser?
I think to some extent I am, I don't like people upset with me and I like doing things for others but if I don't agree or believe in something I will not do it just to make someone else happy. I am somewhere in the middle.
9. In high school what group were you apart of?
I would say, none at all. I had one good friend, who knew everyone in school. My school was not the nicest or best places though. It was one of those where when people asked you were you went and you told them they would say "Oh" and look at me with sympathy. It was kind of ghetto and there were always racial riots. I preferred to stay inside during lunch and not deal with the stupid and immature people I had to spend 8 hours out of my day with. So long answer I guess I was a Loner.
10. One thing you remember doing that upset your parents?
I remember when I was very small and home alone with my dad, I think he was in the living room watching TV. Well I must have been bored because I decided to stick pretty much the whole toilet paper roll down the toilet. After I flooded out the whole bathroom my dad was really pissed. lol oops.
11. First Hangover?
Well I am proud to say was just this last year. It was during my last visit to the states and I was having a great time with my aunt, uncles and my mom. The guncles invited us over for dinner and drinks. I usually don't like to loose control of anything so I always make sure I drink enough water so that I am still sober enough to make a logical decision. Well I did not have one drop of water that night. It took me a day and half to recover. Oh good times!!

Checking in..
Wow it has almost been a month since I have been away from my own blog. Most days I have spent cleaning, doing laundry, helping cook, or trying to find things to keep me busy. You would think since I have so much free time that I would be spending it blogging, but I have not been able to get inspired by anything.
Since I have been here I have gotten back into the routine of things which was a little harder for me to do this time because I was in the states so long on my last visit. I have been saying I moved already but during the last year I spent more than six months all together in the states. I think knowing my trip here in November was not just a visit this time, it was finally the big move (no date to go back) was a little harder. It did not hit me when I arrived or even a month after. Just a few weeks ago I started getting my anxiety back. It is hard to explain or figure out because I do not feel like I want to or need to back. I miss my family of course and other things that I am used to but I don't have an overwhelming feeling that I need to go back. I think I just need something else to keep me busy during the hours that Javi is gone.
Javi's job (though we are both grateful that he as one) sucks! Every three weeks he is switched from the morning to night hours. During the day he leaves from 730 am to around 730 pm and the night he is gone from 530 pm to 530 am. He is paid around 1000 pesos a week which all considering is not that bad for where we are at, he has insurance and gets a monthly bonus if he does not miss any days. It is our his best choice for our location besides probably having his own business. I just wish we had more time together.
Oh well I guess I really don't have that much to complain about. I think I just needed to get some stuff off my chest and remember what is really important. My family is healthy, I have a roof over my head, food to eat everyday and so much love and support from everyone, not to mention no matter what time he gets home I still get to give javi a hug/kiss goodbye or hello every morning/night.
